Most people say that an old dog can still learn some new tricks but you cannot teach the cat any tricks. This is because the pet owners know that it is very difficult to get the cat to learn and most of the feline lovers have all but given up on this. Well, the real facts are that cats can be taught anything you want them to learn.

You will need to use the simple rules of behavioral training where by rewards and punishments are used either to reward the good behavior or to punish disobedience. So all it means is to reward the cat each time it obeys an instruction.

The next step would be to choose what you want to get the cat to do. If you want to be able to walk the cat on a leash for example, you would just go purchase a collar and put it by the cat’s bed.

Once it gets used to seeing the collar, the next thing is to get the collar around its head each time you are giving it food. Then once in a while, allow the collar to remain on the cat’s neck for some few days. Once it accepts the collar around its neck, the next step is to attach a leash to the collar and there you are, ready for the walk.

The next hard part of training is getting the cat to use the toilet. You would start with a litter box which you will put on the floor next to the toilet, then raise the toilet lid.

Follow this by introducing a pile of newspapers to raise the box higher to the level of the toilet bowl.

The litter box should be secured by a metal bowl for some time till the cat gets used to it. When you later remove the box, the cat will automatically continue to use the toilet.

This exercise requires a lot of patience and time but eventually it will pay off when the cat begins to do exactly what is expected of it.

In addition to training your dog, this writer also regularly shares knowledge regarding remote control thermostat and digital thermostat.

Do you want a Teacup Yorkshire terrier to be your canine companion? If you do, the first thing that would come to your mind would be how to find out someone who breeds teacup Yorkies so that you can get a miniature sized puppy for yourself.

But before proceeding further there is one thing that every person wanting to own a teacup Yorkie knows that there is no such thing as a teacup Yorkie. There is no such breed of Yorkshire Terriers that can be classified as miniature or teacup Yorkies.

In fact the Yorkies breed is already a toy breed as classified by the American Kennel Club and there is in fact no definition of the term teacup Yorkies. Yorkies themselves are very small dogs and come in very small sizes, although some dogs may grow up to become quite large, but for most cases this is quite uncommon.

Normally a Yorkie would weigh around 4 to 7 pounds. And while anything above this is considered to be alright, a Yorkie that weighs less than 4 pounds when fully grown up is not considered to be a normal Yorkie.

However, there are unscrupulous breeders out there who will resort to such ploys and plays on words as teacup Yorkies to get your custom. When you’re going around looking for your new Yorkie you will most definitely want to remember this fact. Any responsible Yorkie breeder worth his or her salt won’t sell you a Yorkie that will grow to be undersized.

If you’re wondering how they can tell which Yorkie puppies will be underweight, the only real reason is because they have years of experience behind them as well as the fact that even as puppies these small Yorkies will be the runts of the litter.

Most of the breeders take pride in the work they do and this is the reason why no reputed breeder would sell an underweight, teacup Yorkie, to you. This is mainly because they know that small or teacup Yorkies are generally marred by diseases and genetic illnesses.

This may prove to be heartache to owner if they are not aware of this. It can also be very hard on the owner’s pocket to try to keep their beloved teacup Yorkshire terrier in the best of health at all times.

If a breeder or someone else is trying to sell you teacup Yorkies whatever the sum of money, you are best advised to stay away from this person. They are not genuine and very possibly specialize in breeding small undersized Yorkies, which in itself can be thought of as inhumane since most teacup Yorkies suffer from ill health and can also be more prone to other illnesses and genetic problems.

Many people are not prepared or simply underestimate how tough housebreaking a puppy can be. Unfortunately, many people make this process harder than it has to be. As soon as you bring this new member of your family home, you will need to begin this process. With a clear understanding of the situation and a bit of preparation, you can get the issue under control as quickly as possible.

There is no shortage of ideas and opinions on this subject. Some techniques are useful, while other are not. Often, these myths are cruel and ineffective. Take a look at some information and techniques that have been proven to be effective much of the time. Understand, however, that your success will depend on many variables.

You need to have realistic expectations with this process. Understand that puppies are very immature and simply have a tough time controlling their bowels and bladder. For this reason accidents are often unintentional and can continue after the puppy has learned its responsibility. Be prepared for this with patience and understanding. Make sure that you are consistent with your technique and approach to this process, or your puppy will only get more confused.

You must begin developing a schedule that you can stick too. Expect to take the dog outside as soon as you wake up in the morning and immediately after the puppy eats. These are typical times that a dog needs to go and need to be worked into the schedule. Between these times, take the dog out every couple of hours or so. Developing this schedule will help the puppy to develop a sense of rhythm about going outside to relieve itself.

Watch your dog for typical signs that they need to go, including sniffing, pacing, and circling an area of the floor. If you catch them doing this, take them outside. When you catch the puppy in the middle of an accident, firmly tell him “no” and quickly take the puppy outside. Remember that you should never hit the dog and avoid other cruel tactics that simply do not work. Also remember that you should not punish a dog for using the bathroom inside if you did no specifically catch the dog in the middle of the act. If you take action after the fact, the dog will simply have no clue why it is being punished.

Many people utilize kennels and puppy pads. Dogs generally do not want to use the bathroom in a small area like a kennel, making them ideal for times when you leave the house. If you are gone for more than 4-6 hours, the dog may have no choice but to relieve itself, so be prepared for this. Be sure to take the dog outside before you leave and after you get home. Puppy pads are also a great tool for teaching a puppy to use the bathroom outside. An interesting trick is slowly and methodically moving the pad toward the door. Eventually, the dog will automatically go to the door when it needs to go.

Housebreaking a puppy can be particularly difficult for some people, while relatively easy for others. However, if you approach the issue with patience and understanding, you will eventually succeed in this process. Immediately begin developing a schedule to help everyone involved. Also consider purchasing a dog kennel and puppy pads. A bit of anticipation and preparation can make this training much simpler.

More techniques about housebreaking puppies are available for you.

When you first decided to get a puppy, you probably weren’t aware of all the responsibilities that went along with being a dog owner. There are a lot of things that need to be done on a daily basis to take care of a dog and on top of all of that they can be very expensive.

One of the most frustrating things about being a dog owner is not being able to communicate with your pet. You can’t understand them and they can’t understand you. This can make training your dog to understand the boundaries of you property very hard.

The fact that you can not explain the dangers of leaving the backyard to your pet forces you to keep them leashed when they are outside and unsupervised. Being leased up in the backyard makes it very hard for your pet to run and get the proper exercise that they desperately need.

If you could just get your dog to understand that it is dangerous for them to leave the property, it wouldn’t be so bad leaving them outside. They would know that they needed to stay in the yard and you could leave them be unleashed. You wouldn’t need to worry and they could have much more fun.

If you are interested in being able to let your dog be truly free on your property you should consider wireless dog fences. These fences are completely invisible and will not blemish your backyard, all while teaching your dog not to run off. You can leave your dog alone, unleashed and not have to worry.

Wireless dog fences are made up of two main parts, a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter transmits a wireless signal much like a cordless phone and the dog collar acts as a receiver. If your dog wanders outside of the transmitters range they will hear a warning beep and if the continue to roam away they will get a correction shock.

Please don’t be put off by the word corrective shock as this is not painful to your dog and may very well be the most effective way to train them of their boundaries. You dog is very smart and in no time at all will be very well aware of where they can and can’t go.

Wireless dog fences are very easily set up. Simply, choose a place in your home where you’d like to place the transmitter, set it to the distance you’d like your pet to be able to roam and that’s it. Your dog will be able to roam free outside with little to no supervision.

If you are looking to learn more about electric dog fence, you should take a look at invisible dog fence.

A puppy is like a cute bundle of joy roaming around your home, but have you considered what kind of a puppy you want? With the exponential increase in the number of dog breeds you need to find out which of them are faithful to you. Well the answer to this question is very simple. The German Shepherd is one dog breed that is not just a good companion but can also be trained to perform a lot of activities.

While looking at German Shepherd dogs for adoption one needs to look at them very carefully as hereditary breeding has caused heath problems for them. These problems include hip and elbow dysplasia, digestive problems, epilepsy, chronic eczema, dwarfism, flea allergies and keratitis. The best way to ensure that you are getting a disease free puppy is by contacting a reputed breeder who would be able to provide you a certificate assuring the puppy’s health.

Since German Shepherd puppies are very friendly and very eager to learn new things, care must be taken to ensure proper training for them so that you have a well trained and obedient German Shepherd dog in the long run. The best way to ensure that your puppy is absorbing all what you are teaching it is by training it outdoors. This is also a method to maintain a puppy’s health.

While it is true that almost all puppies love playing and going for walks, the German Shepard puppy is a puppy who will thrive with this activity. The walks can be used to train your puppy to have good social behavior when you meet strangers. There is one very important item which needs to be addressed when you are beginning the training of your puppy.

The German Shepard puppy is a very intelligent animal. Without any activity to keep the puppy fully occupied you will have on your hands a destructive puppy. This destructive tendency can be reduced if you begin the correct training and handling of the puppy. You should make sure that you are training your puppy with lots of patience, firm but gentle handling and lots of love.

Another thing that needs to be addressed is the grooming part, which in case of German Shepherds is very easy to perform. You only need to brush your German Shepherd’s coat on a daily basis. Apart from this your puppy would require a bath only twice a year. Bathing your puppy more than this amount may lead to loss of your puppy’s protective skin oil.

Even though there are many different breeds of puppies that you can think about getting, the German Shepard puppy is one who will provide you with loyalty and companionship all through its life.

Dog Training Basics

Now is the perfect time event though there is never a perfect age to train your dog. A dog of any age can be trained no matter what the kind of behavior you are looking for from your pet. The longer you put off training, the harder it will become for your pet to adapt to that learned behavior. Most people try their hand at training their dog on their own, some seek out a professional dog trainer in their area in order help guide them and reach the results they are looking for.

Finding a dog trainer can be an extensive search depending on what types of problems you want to avoid with your pet. Common dog behavior problems are easily helped with training. Potty training, eliminating aggressive behavior, barking or just leash training can all be helped by the use of a professional dog trainer.

No matter if this is your first pet or one of many, each dog is different and no personality is the same and may require additional help from an outside source. Seeking out a dog trainer is not an admission of being an inadequate owner, but rather an owner that is serious about having a well-behaved dog that is desirable to be around. Working with a trainer will keep you on coarse and make the job easier.

When using the services of a local dog trainer you too can become informed about the benefits of having a structured regime for your pet. Not only will your pet become well behaved, but also it will be a joy to have around and spend more time with at home, out in public or with other dogs. There is less anxiety for both owner and pet when a dog knows its boundaries and limitations of what is expected on a daily basis.

Potty training your pet can happen in a variety of ways depending on how you wish to approach it personally. Often the more time you spend one-on-one with your pet for potty training, the easier it will be for both of you and the desired results will come faster. Professional trainers can help with assistance, knowledge and encouragement.

Just like any part of dog training, the more effort you put into potty training the more you will get back from your pet. Using the skills from a local dog trainer can help the process so that you do not become easily frustrated with your new dog before they are fully trained.

Some professional dog trainer programs use a clicker in order to get an animal to generate a desired behavior. You may find that this type of training works well for your pet and you can continue the use of a clicker as time goes on to help train them in different areas as well. The only way to see if this type of dog training will work for your pet is to try it for yourself.

There are no set rules that if a clicker does not work for you that there are no other options for your pet. The benefits of training are that there are many different methods used by local dog trainers, and you are free to choose which ones will work for you and your pet.

An interesting fact about dog breeds is that there are more number of dog breeds in the world than there are people in United Kingdom!

An interesting fact about dog breeds is that there are more number of dog breeds in the world than there are people in United Kingdom! Okay, that was an exaggeration, but it was only a slight one. There are truly a huge number of dog breeds in the world and that number is increasing each day.

The increase in the number of breeds is not because new breeds are been discovered across the planet each day, but because of the large number of cross breeding programs. Not all resulting dogs from these programs are considered to be new breeds but there are some that stand up to the standards and are considered to be new dog breeds, and this is the tome when the number of these dogs starts increasing.

Since dog is supposed to be man’s best friend, it really is no surprise that the more ardent of dog lovers went on to cross breed different dogs to get what they considered to be the perfect dog for them.

This required many years of dedication on the part of these breeders as well as a love for the dogs. And the result of so many, many years of breeding programs by so many, many dog breeders is the large variety of dog breeds we have around us today.

One of the latest additions to the breed of dogs is the Puggle which is basically a cute cross breed of a Pug Father and Beagle mother. This is one those breeds which has made a name for itself in the eyes of the people and this is because of the fact that they have a cute, wrinkly face with large droopy ears and soulful eyes.

And just as with these Puggles, there are many new dog breeds which come into being on a regular basis. Some people believe that these cross bred dog breeds are better even than their pure bred parents as the cross breeds will have less chance of carrying the same genetic illnesses and diseases which the pure breeds carry in their genetic makeup.

If you are looking out for a dog, and are confused by the huge number of breeds in the market, then the best way to [proceed is by narrowing down your choice by taking into consideration the type of dog that is the most suited to your lifestyle. Doing this would help you to narrow down your options and fins the perfect dog for you and your family.

The term teacup Chihuahua is objected to by many different breeders, especially Chihuahua breeders. This is because of the fact that there is really no such thing as a teacup Chihuahua, at least there is no separate teacup Chihuahua breed.

There can be so many smaller versions of Chihuahua, which can be labeled and described as tiny, toy, miniature or teacup Chihuahua. A Chihuahua is very small in size, and some people seem to capitalize on this fact, especially in cases where there is a very small puppy in a litter, and label it as a teacup Chihuahua or a miniature Chihuahua or a toy Chihuahua to sell it at a much higher price than it is worth.

Unsuspecting people who are looking for a Chihuahua puppy as a pet will most likely be taken in by such ill-used words as toy or teacup Chihuahua, and buy the Chihuahua for more than they should. Prospective Chihuahua owners should do their homework and find out all there is to know about Chihuahua’s before they start to look around.

If on the other hand, you know a thing or two about dogs and Chihuahua’s in general, and you’re looking especially for a smaller “teacup Chihuahua” then the label shouldn’t be a problem for you, as long as you know what you’re getting.

A Chihuahua is a Chihuahua and whether it has been labeled as a teacup Chihuahua or not, it is going to have the same characteristics. If the dog is a pure bred, where was it bred and the size of the dog are some of the things that may come into the equation while making a choice, but it may not be the case always.

For one thing, if you’re getting your Chihuahua from a reputable Chihuahua breeder, then you will not have to worry about haggling the price down to something manageable just because you were told that you were getting a teacup Chihuahua.

Using the services of a reputed breeder also means that you do not have to worry about the conditions in which your Chihuahua was bred, and what general and genetic illness that it might have. All the information that you require would be provided to you by the Chihuahua breeder.

You will also find that going through a reputable Chihuahua breeder also has better advantages than just those mentioned. For instance you will also be able to get the advice necessary on how to properly raise your Chihuahua, and if you have a small “teacup Chihuahua” then you can also get help and advice on how to handle this seemingly fragile little dog.

And as long as you understand that your toy or teacup Chihuahua is not a new breed of Chihuahua but only a smaller version, you and your cute and adorable Chihuahua will do just fine.

There are many people in the world who do not like the idea of having a dog that all cute and cuddly. A lot of people want their dog to be ferocious and fiery. If however you are interested in having a dog that is neither too fiery nor too cuddly then you can go in for a Dalmatian, and the best place to get a Dalmatian is from a Dalmatian breeder.

A great way to ensure that you get a good quality dog is to get your Dalmatian from a breeder rather than a pet store. Of course, if this the first time that you are going to get a dog, then it is better to explore all possible options before proceeding.

This is the reason why you should first find out that the Dalmatian breeder you are dealing with is a reputed breeder. You do not want to get your first Dalmatian puppy from a puppy mill running in the guise of a Dalmatian breeder. One characteristic of good breeders, both Dalmatian and otherwise, is that they would be interested in you as much as you would be interested in them.

They will generally ask you a lot of questions about your lifestyle so as to determine that you can take care of the Dalmatian or not. Dalmatian breeders just like other breeders are quite proud of their work and the amount of effort they put into breeding the dogs they sell, so in any case they would not allow their pure bred puppy to go into the hands of a person who is indifferent or who does not know how to care about their puppy as they should.

Good Dalmatian breeders will ask you a lot of questions, and sometimes you might even have to sign a contract stating that if ever you don’t want the dog or you can’t upkeep it, that you will bring the dog back to the breeder. This is to ensure that their dogs don’t end up in shelters or otherwise with people who will not care for them the same as you do.

Another thing is that you should be ready to ask the breeders all sorts of questions because they are the ones who can provide complete and accurate information on not only how to take care of your puppy but also about the nature of the puppy and any genetic anomalies associated with the puppy.

Being a Dalmatian owner is not an easy task, but the best way to start is to find a good and reputed breeder top get your Dalmatian puppy from. This is the only way to ensure that your puppy has had the best care since the day it was born.
