Is A Dog Training DVD A Better Way To Learn?
If you’ve discovered that your perfect pooch has a real problem that you can’t deal with, then you’re going to need professional help. Should you take them to a trainer? Is a dog training DVD a good way to learn? You need to decide what is best for you and the dog.
There are many reasons that people don’t want to go to a trainer. First, and foremost is the expense. A good trainer will not be cheap. If they’re cheap they can’t be that good, and this is an area that you don’t want to skimp on.
If you are considering taking classes, think it through. There is the drive time (hopefully, your dog’s problem doesn’t involve car rides), and the loading and unloading no matter what the weather. If you’re unlucky, it will rain on class night and you get to smell wet dog in your car, plus after they get out. And remember, if you go to class you are on their time then, not yours. If you can’t make a class, will it throw you behind? How fast can you get in? What if one of the dogs there transforms into a demon when your dog enters the room? And if the class doesn’t work out you will probably not be eligible for a refund.
Why not take that money and invest in a DVD course? Look at the advantages of it: you are on your schedule, all the time. If you need a break, you can stop. If the dog starts acting up, you can take a break and pick it up later. And best of all, if you are just too tired tonight, you can reschedule without having to pay a penalty. It is totally up to you.
Another great thing about these courses are that sometimes we have to see something more than once. Some of us are visual learners and it takes a little repetition to sink in. That’s where the rewind button comes in. You can start it over as many times as it takes.
So, if you want to know if a dog training DVD a good way to learn, it really depends on what you consider a good use of your time. You can either spend it carting your canine back and forth to class, or you spend that time more wisely in the comfort of your own home.
