If you are ready to get a dog, there are some things that might be considered as must-haves. Having them will make your life as a dog owner a lot easier. If you already have a dog, then you may want to check and see if anything is missing from your list of dog necessities.

Like any pet, your dog needs food, water and shelter. Like children, they need to be taught what is okay and what isn’t okay. Another necessary ingredient is caring. If any of these must-haves are missing, there may be problems.

First off are the basics of food and water. Be sure your pet has access to clean water both indoors and out. Even though dogs will drink from a puddle, it’s still a good idea to clean his water bowl regularly.

Try to establish a routine of feeding your pooch. You may want to check with your vet to see if he recommends a morning or evening feeding time. His recommendation may be dependent upon your dog’s activity level or his breed. Whatever the case, stay consistent.

Fill his bowl with his daily allotment of food and put it in the same spot every day. Some dogs are nibblers while others will seem to inhale their food as soon as the bowl hits the floor. For nibblers, dry food is probably a better option than a moist dog food. Be sure to get a quality dog food containing all the necessary nutrients for his age.

Just as important is shelter. There are certain considerations depending upon whether your dog lives indoors or out. If your dog is an inside pet, you have 2 things to think about; where he will sleep and where he will be when you are out of the house.

For puppies, a crate can work quite well. Be sure there is a comfortable bed in the crate. There should be room for a water bowl. For puppies that are not yet housebroken, allow a small area at one end of the crate for this.

If you have a laundry room, or can use a gate to keep your pet in a hallway or smaller area, this can work when you aren’t home. Be sure he has access to water and a comfortable dog bed to lie on.

A dog bed can be one of the most important things you can get for your dog. That way, you can teach him right away that he is to use his bed to sleep on, rather than your couch or carpet.

It’s so much easier to clean a dog bed, especially a washable dog bed, than it is to clean your couch. If he has a favorite spot on the carpet, that area will look different than the rest of the carpet, in time.

Training is a really important part of dog ownership. A well-behaved dog is more fun to have around and is a whole lot easier to control. You aren’t doing yourself or your dog any favors by not training him. And training could save his life.

Here’s what I mean. If your dog comes when you call, or at least stops and sits when you order him to, there may come a time when he listens to you and doesn’t run out into traffic.

To train your dog, at the very least, you’ll need a collar and leash. You can go the do it yourself route and get a dog training manual or enroll him in a dog training course. This is something that will pay dividends as long as you have your dog. And, you’ll really enjoy taking your well trained dog for his daily walk.

A dog is a sensitive animal. He picks up on your feelings and is eager to please you. For many, a dog is a very rewarding part of their everyday life. Your part is to be sure that you provide all the necessary must-have dog necessities for your furry friend.

To welcome your puppy into his new home, nothing can be more comforting than a cozy cave dog bed. Visit heateddogbedreview.com to find out more.

It’s hard to resist a child’s pleas for a puppy. And even harder to resist the big, sad eyes, glimmer of a pout and what looks like tears – and that’s just the puppy! Soft and furry, there’s nothing like a bundle of fluff cuddling up to you on a cold winter’s night.

Dogs are a baby and a best friend rolled into one. So it’s easy to forget that all pets are living beings. The responsibility and cost of caring for them can come as a big surprise. Give these points some thought before you bring a puppy home.

Are You Ready for the Responsibility?

Common pets, like dogs and cats, rely on their owners for love and attention in much the same way as a new born baby does. They need to be walked, fed, and loved. If dogs are left alone in the house for a long period of time, they can become agitated. This can result in constant barking that annoys the neighbors, or worse. In some, the anxiety is so severe that they can take out their aggressions on your personal belongings. It is not unheard of for shoes, pillows, or large furniture pieces to be ruined by a distraught dog.

Dogs Are a Big Expense for Their Owners

Dogs can cost your family thousands of dollars a year in added expenses. This money may be needed for your own survival. Here are some of the things to think about before setting up a corner for Rover.

The first bill you’ll pay will be for the dog itself. Depending on where you buy the dog, this can amount to hundreds of dollars. You will then need to buy a selection of accessories such as a leash, a cage, feeding bowls, chew toys, shampoos, and brushes just to name a few. Some of these are one-time expenses. For example, you don’t have to buy a new leash every week. Grooming products like shampoo will need to be replaced, but your biggest expense will be food. Depending on your choice of dog food, the bill can add up to several hundred dollars a year. Of course, if you want your dog to have gourmet food you can get it, but other than impressing your friends, it will only cost you more.

Then there is medical care. Unlike the rest of us, our pets are not covered by health insurance. Therefore any time they get sick, need a vaccination, or if they develop a much more serious illness, that expense will come out of your pocket.

Before you take on the responsibility of owning a dog or cat, make sure you are willing to give the pet the loving care it will need. A dog will bring a lot of joy into your home, but a lot of time, work and money will be needed as well.

Puppies have many health issues which are, normally, not necessarily severe. Becoming ill is one of the more common types. And i am sure every dog owner is aware, and realizes, that coughing noise which suggests your dog is about to be ill. Just what can we do in regards to this? Most certainly, of course, first thing would be to quickly grab the doggy outside.

And what will cause most dogs to be ill? Well, it can be each of these factors, nearly all of which do not suggest the doggy is really unwell. He or she might have consumed a thing that did not go along with them. And that doesn’t suggest you ought to dispose off the canine food, as well. Each and every puppy will grab and consume stuff that he sees on his way. A large number of are safe, but at times a puppy will eat a thing he shouldn’t, and a short while afterwards, back it comes. Yet I by no means allow my puppy to take things up and take in them. Yet do you watch your pet every time of every day?

There are other items that could cause a dog to be ill, too. Something might just have tickled the back of his tonsils. He could have grabbed a loose locks which was shed from his fur. In the event that he eats grass, and many puppies do, from time to time, a slightly longer blade may also have tickled his neck. Actually many people believe a canine will graze whenever his stomach just isn’t being so comfortable.

Remember that, for a doggy, being unwell isn’t the as extremely troubling circumstance as it is for a human. Most of us are simply ill when we are really sick. Naturally, in case the sickness is more than a single occurrence, then it can suggest some thing is actually amiss with the puppy. Meaning it’s time to take a deep breath, drill down into your pockets, and call the animal medical practitioner.

If your dog is sick, stay relaxed and don’t make a lot of talk about this. Your puppy is usually not in the slightest troubled by the event. They have a tendency to try and do roughly the same as shrug their shoulders.

Dog behavior training is a very long and complicated process; this is mainly because your dog do not understands what is expected of them when you are starting out for the first time, and despite the fact that most of the time they truly want to please you. To make things even more difficult for you, they generally have a very short attention span, and thus before you decide to quit trying altogether, you should consider some of the tips and aids below to help you out.

One of the more effective ways of training your dog is through reward model instead of just punishment everytime. Design a simple reward whereby your dog can achieve without needing too much of a change in behavior, be it simple training or potty training, rewarding them instead of punishing them when they do not perform the task can actually enhance the positive behavior that you want to induce in them. Reward based training will usually yield the best results for your efforts.

If you have been contemplating about buying items that can help your with your dog training, be sure to pick those that have been used to good effects by others. Items like choke collars and chains are bad for dog training because they’re ineffective, and can be abusive! A sturdy collar and a good leash can be considered as more useful because the owner can gently remind the dog with a slight tug instead of the abusive choke collar when you want the dog to do something such as to stop barking.

Sometimes, you’ll also find that a grooming brush and some toys can be an effective way to train your dog. This can be used as a positive reinforcement for your dog, especially for those dogs who loved to be groomed and pampered by their owner.

The best way to view your dog training is to actually view is as a bonding session more than just a boot camp training for your dog, owning a dog and gaining it’s affection and loyalty is every bit as important as trying to get them to do the exact things that you want from them.

Want to change the way your kitchen looks and give it a more contemporary feel to it?
Most dogs don't have wonderful smelling breath. Then again who could blame them, not surprisingly, your breath would smell too if you never brushed your teeth!

Most dogs don’t have wonderful smelling breath. Then again who could blame them, not surprisingly, your breath would smell too if you never brushed your teeth!

Taking the right care of your pets teeth is needed to battle bad dog breath, however a current study shows that there might be even more important benefits – ones that may be important to the life of your pet.

Done at Purdue University by Dr. Larry Glickman the study included the records of over 100,000 dogs. This study included a group that had periodontal disease and an equal size group that did not. It was discovered that there is a statistical link between dogs with gum disease and dogs with heart disease.

The greatest link involved heart valve inflammation. In fact, only 0.01 percent of dogs that didn’t have gum disease had endocarditis whereas.15 percent of the dogs with stage 3 gum disease did get endocarditis.

So, you see it’s critical to care for your dogs teeth to be able to keep your pet happy and healthy.

So, how do you give your dog terrific dental care?

Needless to say, the first step is making sure your dog has clean teeth. It should start at home and you can buy toothpaste especially formulated for dogs as well as toothbrushes for dog teeth cleaning. It’s good to get in the habit of brushing on a daily basis. This will keep tarter from building up and lessen the risk of gum disease and bad dog breath.

You also should speak to your vet about scheduling a dental scaling. This is much like a cleaning you get at the dentist and involves scraping or scaling the tarter from your dogs teeth..

You can also get dog chews and treats that will assist with your canine dental plan. A lot of the bones and chewies will help to wear down built up tarter. Other treats have enzymes to help combat bad dog breath.

Your dogs ongoing good health depends on good dental care. Surplus tarter and plaque can cause bacteria to be present in your dogs system and this can lead to disease in any major organ.

Good canine dental care can help keep your dog healthy. It only takes a few minutes a day to brush Fido’s teeth and the pay back could be fresh smelling dog breath and a lot more healthy years added to your pets life.

A good dog breeder will almost always want to know about you, almost as much as you will want to know about your new prospective dog, and this is also true of Bichon Frise breeders. These breeders love their dogs and take good care of their breeder dogs, as well as the ensuing puppies.

It is an obvious fact that all breeders are not the same, and even among the relatively average number of Bichon Frise breeders you are bound to find some breeders who are in this profession only to make a good buck and are not at all concerned about their dogs’ needs.

These places are not breeders they are puppy mills and one of the best things to do is to avoid these kinds of places and stay as far as possible from such Bichon Frise breeders.

Breeders do come in all shapes and sizes, but these are perhaps the worst of the lot, the ones who breed puppies as if they were nothing more than a walking, barking commodity, and who give no thought whatsoever to the health and the happiness of their dogs.

Of course, just as important as staying away from such heartless breeding and breeding techniques, it is also important not to confuse genuine Bichon Frise breeders with the less humane Bichon Frise breeders.

A genuine dog from a reputed breeder is like a valuable gem and needs to be treasured as they provide a service that is very valuable, and it should not be treated in a bad manner.

Genuine, reputable Bichon Frise breeders will question you thoroughly on all aspects of your life which will reflect on the dog and this is done not in an attempt to alienate you or to be nosy, but to find out first and foremost whether you can indeed look after your new Bichon Frise puppy.

Another thing that you must understand is that most Bichon Frise breeders are willing to interact with you on topics such as how to care about your new puppy. They will also be willing to inform you how the behavior of your puppy would change as it matures into an adult dog.

Will it be cute and adorable all of its life, or will it turn into a raging monster who tears your entire home up the minute you leave it alone and go out food shopping for more dog food! Or will you get a cute and adorable puppy who will tear up the room regardless of whether or not you’re home?

These are some of the general queries that Bichon Frise breeders are qualified to answer to you satisfaction. And this is the reason why you need to locate a good Bichon Frise breeder, so that you can get the right type of Bichon Frise puppy that is suited to your style of living.

Making sure that your dogs are comfortable is something. They say that most of the pet lovers these days are going overboard right now. Well there is that need to make sure that you will let these canine do their thing, have their way of life like real kids do. There are schools for them and they are certainly not like your average students.

Just a few days back, there were news stories that talked about Conchita, the chihuahua who was inherited millions of dollars when her owner died. You could probably say that this is one lucky dog and there is no way that you will be able to do the same for your dog. But then, you know that this is never really the kind of thing that your dog needs. Aside from you caring and feeding for your dog, the little things would count as good as the millions that Cochita got. For instance, you get these padded dog harness so that your dogs will not have strained muscles from a long ride or a long walk in the park.

Why do you need to do this for your dog? Well, obviously if you were in your dog’s shoes, you would want to be comfortable. The usual type of harness could never really do them any good. There are dogs who would suffer from back pains or some scratch in their skin due to the material that was used in the harness.

If it were you, you would also have to suffer the consequences of being in one tight and uncomfortable harness right? Your dogs have feelings too, they have the nerves to feel that the harness is already causing their skin to break or their muscles to get really tight and achy. The padded dog harness is especially designed so your dogs will not have to suffer any of these problems.

Now, walking in the park will never be that tough on them. You do not have to see them with all of these things blisters and never with all of the pain in the back again. You have to be kind to your friends you know. But aside from that, here are other essentials for your dogs:

	A good shampoo. Flea and ticks might harm your dogs and you will never really want them scratching all over their bodies just so they could have that relieved feeling. The fleas are not good and thankfully, a good shampoo and a regular bath is all that is needed to take them out of the picture.
	Recommended dog diet. They have to eat nutritious food as well. Your vets would have that assessed. There are dogs that need extra nutrition, something caused by pedigree. You have to feed them the right thing so they would grow really strong.
	A safe place to stay at. Some dogs are afraid of thunder, lightning and other things. If you can keep your dogs from staying in the house, then find him or her good place to stay at, somewhere that is safe and comfortable enough.

And of course never forget about the padded dog harness. So you can go to the park as carefree and comfortable as possible.

It is really important to have padded dog harness so that your dogs will not have strained muscles from a long ride or a long walk in the park. You will definitely find the widest array of choices for it online at half the cost.

A reputable dog obedience training program, created by a top dog trainer, not only uses gentle and humane dog training tips, but it stresses the importance of puppy socialization. Wolves live in family units, for hunting success and safety. Your dog, a descendent of the wolf, seeks that same sense of safety and familiarity.

Your dog’s ancestors were, indeed, predators, but they weren’t invincible. Especially when separated from their packs, they were vulnerable in unfamiliar situations that included unknown creatures and landscapes. This fear was necessary for survival, and lives on in modern dogs.

Like wolves, today’s dogs’ fears can be exhibited as aggression. When a dog is fearful, she might growl, bark, or bite; and will be tagged as a dangerous dog. Often, this is a result of poor socialization.

For these reasons, not excluding the safety of your family, neighbors, other dogs, and your own dog, it’s important to start socializing your puppy as early as possible.

Early in a puppy’s life, namely during months two and three, he’s literally absorbing his world; learning, exploring, and building his confidence. This is your chance to show him how exciting and nontoxic the world can be.

When you picture your life with your grown dog, do you anticipate enjoying the wide world with him? Then, by all means, get out there with your puppy and introduce him to that wide world:

Expose your puppy to children, so that she can learn to view their quick movements and shrill voices as nonthreatening.

Hop in the car for rides with your puppy.

Stroll through nature, so your puppy can experience the sights and sounds of chipmunks, birds, etc.

Introduce her to other dogs. Dog parks and dog obedience training schools are terrific ways to accomplish this.

Walk in a town or city, so he can develop a tolerance for car horns, motorcycles, trucks, bikes, other dogs, and crowds of people.

Stop in at the groomer’s, the kennel, the vet clinic, and the pet shop for visits. Allow your puppy the opportunity to introduce herself to the staff at each venue.

Find those places, like banks, home improvement stores, and pet retailers that welcome pets, and patronize them with your puppy in tow. Take advantage of the dog treats that are offered to shape your puppy’s positive view of these places.

Use the clicker puppy training tips you’ve learned to reinforce bravery. If she remains calms in spite of thunderous noise or stranger’s hands, click and reward her confidence.

If a loud noise startles her, or if a stranger’s hand causes her to back away, do not comfort and pet her. She will view this as reinforcement for her fear. Instead, ignore her behavior and reward her when she’s displaying confidence in the face of a scary situation.

Never force your puppy into a scary situation. If she’s afraid of a person, allow her to stay back while you interact with that person. Show the puppy that there’s nothing to fear, and she’ll probably approach on her own. When she sits nicely for a pet, click and reward.

Often, dog owners aren’t able to find the time or the physical energy to get their puppies out into the world. In these cases, it’s important that these dog owners invite visitors to their homes to meet their puppies, and that they hire a dog walker or top dog trainer to escort the puppy on jaunts around the great wide world. If these measures aren’t taken, the puppy will grow to be a reclusive dog who is fearful of visitors, vet visits, etc.

Every walk, every ride, and every introduction puts your puppy in a better place. Each experience will contribute to her ultimately friendly, confident, and calm adult demeanor.

You know how it feels to walk into a party full of people you don’t know. It can be disconcerting, and can cause anxiety. Your dog experiences these same feelings in unfamiliar situations, so make it your mission to introduce your puppy to the world, early on. Your dog obedience training success, and your dog human relationship, will thank you.
